I'm writing from the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. This week there is
a session of the Parliamentary Assembly and so it is buzzing with
activity.
The reason I’m here is that Gary McFarlane and Shirley Chaplin’s cases are being heard at the European Court of Human Rights on 4th September and this is our last chance before the summer recess to talk to people here about the ramifications of these cases and the critical importance of protecting Christian freedoms and conscience.
I am here for just a couple of days to try and make members of the Parliamentary Assembly aware that these cases are being heard.
I want to inform them of the huge impact that a ruling against Gary and Shirley would have on the freedom of Christians across Europe. Losing these cases is unthinkable.
This kind of crucial work costs money.
I am asking you to stand with Gary and Shirley and Christians across Europe by donating as much as you can.

You’ll remember Gary and Shirley from previous updates:
Shirley Chaplin, a nurse from Devon, was told that she was no longer allowed to wear a cross around her neck, despite having worn it for nearly 30 years as a nurse;
Gary McFarlane, a counsellor from Bristol, was dismissed for gross misconduct for expressing reservations about giving sex therapy to homosexual couples.
Gary and Shirley are the tip of the iceberg. We have many other clients on our books and many more waiting to hear back from us to see if we can help.
With your help, we are making a difference but we are stretched and we need to expand our legal team to make an even bigger difference.
You can help make this happen by supporting us with a one-off or regular donation.
