Afternoon Thoughts:

"Those who leave for the desert follows the same path that the Spirit led Christ to after his baptism in the Jordan (cf. Mk 1.12). So let us go into the desert to follow the Master. What characterizes the desert is that it is a place with no roads or paths, without signs and without reference points, but that is where God leads a person that they may live strong experiences of faith, they will strive to rely totally on Him where there is no human and earthly support. The desert is a place without roads, but paradoxically, it is through the desert a person must pass because it is the only sure way to seek the Lord. "

"The desert is the only path that leads to Horeb, the mountain where God reveals himself. In the silence of the desert, you can hear the voice of God more easily The ear is refined in silence and becomes able to hear the quiet whispers."(IFSB)
