WILL LIB DEMS ALLOW FREEDOM FOR VIEWS ON MARRIAGE?
Dear marriage supporter,
Liberal
Democrat leader Nick Clegg has signed a petition in favour of
redefining marriage, and has pledged that the Government will push ahead
with the plans regardless of public opinion.
But
not everyone in the Lib Dems feels the same way, nor do all Lib Dem
voters. There are plenty who support the current definition of marriage.
Is there room for them in the Lib Dem party?
Please write now to senior Lib Dem leaders raising these points:
- Ask them whether Lib Dem politicians will be allowed to voice their opposition to redefining marriage?
- Ask them whether there is room for supporters of traditional marriage within the party?
- If this issue might affect how you will vote in future elections, tell them so.
- If you have voted for the Lib Dems at previous elections, it is especially important that you tell them so. They will pay particular attention to the views of their voters.
Please raise those points with one, or more, of these senior Lib Dems (just click on a name to email them):
Yours sincerely,
Colin Hart
