Bus Advert Campaign:

Dear Friends,
It doesn’t take a genius to realise that our nation is not only going through an economic crises but one in which our very social structures are being systematically destroyed from within.  Hitler only dropped bombs on our houses, but today we face an enemy that is attacking the very building blocks of our nation: our marriages, families and children. But over and above this, the enemy would attack truth and justice and tyrannise our consciences and free will.
This year the war on our nation has suddenly intensified with dissenters to gay and secular ideology being silenced, in a manner reminiscent of Nazi Germany.  Perhaps one of the most blatant and recent examples of this was where Christian Lawyers, led by Andrea Minichiello Williams, in attempting to defend a legal definition of marriage, were at the last minute barred from holding a conference, first at the Law Society and then secondly at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference, Westminster.[1] One wonders how soon before all Christian lawyers are removed from the public space.
Earlier this year, I also experienced the trauma of being silenced in an open debate in a UK university in a most thuggish way for daring to object to the gay speaker’s obscene language. At this stage I can say nothing for fear of prejudicing the case which, thank God, will be heard in court later this year. I would value your prayers for this.
However there is a third case with which I am also personally involved. [2] This was our abortive attempt to place advertisements on 26 London buses in April, proposing the notion that people can, and do, change their sexual orientation. Whilst the gay lobby and their friends who presently occupy the House of Commons and City Hall are happy to allow people to leave the straight and narrow and become gay, or even more addicted to queer behaviour with gay affirmative therapy, they refuse to allow travel in the opposite direction; they are determined to silence anyone who dares to say “I once was gay but now am free.” They will shortly disallow therapists and counsellors like Mike Davidson of Core Issues from helping those wanting to escape from gay addiction.
Let me remind you; Stonewall, the gay lobby, who in reality are not a charity but political agitators and anarchists, were allowed to run ads on 1000 London buses with the offensive and confrontational statement. “Some People are Gay. Get Over It!” (or else). And yet our ad,“Not Gay. Ex Gay, Post Gay and Proud. Get Over It!” was banned by the mayor of London, Boris Johnson. Whatever view one might take in the debate over the immutability of sexual orientation (no-one bats an eyes with those who wish to change their gender , through the use of hormone treatment and even mutilation) or whether the wording of the ad was confusing, the real issue is that one person, the Mayor of London, is able go outside his powers to silence all dissent on the subject of homosexuality. This surely is a blatant abuse of his position.
Boris said that Anglican Mainstream’s and Core Issues’ bus ad had the potential to cause ‘great offence’ and prompt an ‘intense backlash’ against Christians in the Capital which “would be so intense it would not have been in the interest of Christian people in this city.”
To me he is admitting that gays are no longer an oppressed minority, but a militant and violent group, who must not be upset, and that in a tolerant and diverse society the proper historical role of Christians is to turn both cheeks to be slapped some more, unless they are prepared to take a justly deserved beating!
The irony is that the money we raised to pay for our advert was never used, and the bus ad did in fact achieve worldwide publicity, the price of which far exceeded that of Stonewall’s!  We are therefore ploughing that money into defending freedom of speech. Unless we are all prepared to be picked off one by one by the Gaystapo/Mafia, we need to stand together in solidarity.
Michael Davis who appears in the Channel 4 video [2]says,
“Papers were served on the Mayor of London on Monday 16th of July in respect of the Bus Campaign case through Rob Andrews, Solicitor. This basically informs Mr Johnson of our intention and provides him with a right to contact the court. The procedure is that we must await a Judge's decision whether or not our application for Judicial review will be allowed or not. Should this be refused, I understand the decision will then be appealed. The serving of papers on Mr Johnson flags the start of our action, which of course has to do with the closedown of debate around the issue of homosexuality and its normalisation in our society. Our advertisement on London buses sought to challenge Stonewall's claim that homosexuality is fixed and unchangeable. The case highlights the erosion of freedom of speech and the freedom of religious practice in the UK - loss of which will impact on all Christians in the UK.”
The legal cost of mounting a case against Boris Johnson sounds a lot, probably around £20,000, and we’d like to thank the 56 donors who have donated so far just over £1,120. In addition, there is approximately £2000 that was never used for the original bus ad. If each of the over 4,500 with whom I communicate would donate just £5 this would cover the cost of the bus campaign action. My view is that it is better to have many small donations rather than one just large one, so that everyone can be part of this campaign – not that we would refuse larger ones of course. I can but ask.
If you wish to donate, simply go onto Core Issues web site, scroll to the bottom where it says “DONATE”. (I believe you can donate directly without having to sign up to Paypal) This page will also give you far more information about the presenting issue.
