Online Safety Bill:

Dear Friends
I apologise for sending you a confusing and poorly presented email the other day asking you to support Baroness Howe of Idlicote in her effort to protect children from on-line pornography. But this is too important an issue to be ignored.  Increasing numbers of children are being groomed by internet porn into sexual addictions, paedophilia, prostitution and finally the sexual slave traffic.

The most powerful weapon for those wanting to destroy our nation is not the bomb or bullet but to introduce our children to pornography, at the earliest age possible.
You may think that it is too late to turn the tide, or that your voice will never be heard, but this is the voice of despair. What was it Edmund Burke said? “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

To protect children from on-line pornography please ask your local MP to support the Online Safety Bill, which Baroness Howe of Idlicote sponsored in the House of Lords. This Bill calls on Government to introduce legislation to make it compulsory for Internet Service Providers to apply a network level filter to bar children from viewing such material. Thus people will have to actively opt-in to receive porn, rather than the current situation where porn is easily accessed by children or appears unsolicited on their iPads, mobile phones and even school computers. http://www.safetynet.org.uk/contactmp.php

The above link gives the name of your local MP. Below we offer a model letter. If several hundred people in each constituency contact their MPs, this will force them to face up to their responsibilities of protecting the children of their constituents. Just copy, paste, top and tail and send to your MP as a top priority.

MODEL LETTER

Dear MP __________

I wish to draw your attention for the need to protect children from on-line pornography with an 'opt-in' mechanism of the kind represented by Lady Howe's Bill [1].

Please support Baroness Howe of Idlicote’s Online Safety Bill, which she sponsored in the House of Lords, calling on Government to introduce legislation to make it compulsory for Internet Service Providers to apply a network level filter barring children from viewing such material. In other words, adults would have to actively opt-in to receive porn, rather than it being easily accessed by children or appearing unsolicited on their iPads, mobile phones and even school computers.

An increasing segment of society now uses porn and combined with explicit material given out in schools in 'Sex & Relationships Education', teenagers and younger children are becoming addicted to this material.

For your information:

  1. Research shows that the brain (at any age) becomes 'rewired, or programmed, in the process of viewing porn. The net result of this is to create major problems for the addict and for the society of the future. Sex of an ever more violent and deviant nature becomes an all-consuming appetite and translates into copy cat activity. [Source: The Kinsey Syndrome.] [2]
  1. While the Government and the media hide behind the excuse that the internet is the source of porn, school SRE lessons contain ideas and evidence of deviant sexual behaviour that may only be described as pornographic. [See Channel 4s ‘Living & Growing’ series for Primary aged children and ‘The Joys of Teen Sex’ for 12 -16 year olds.]
  1. Pornography is used to break down the inhibitions and natural modesty of children, leaving many completely vulnerable not only to child molesters, like the bisexual, Jimmy Savile and the many hundreds being exposed in Government, Social Services, Scouts, orphanages and many other organisations, but also to child trafficking and child prostitution.
Quite unbelievably, the National Association of Head Teachers is calling for children from the age of 10 to be taught about porn, so as to reflect present day “reality.”[3]

Inevitably, children will want to try out what they have viewed and the NHS have disgracefully stepped in to show children how “to do it safely” by launching a website and smartphone app, called Respect Yourself, the first service of its kind in the UK - rolled out across 39 secondary schools in Coventry and Warwickshire.[4]

It must be noted that few MPs attended the Jim Dobbin's sponsored teach-in at Portcullis House on Monday 5 November when Miranda Suit of Safer Media addressed this very issue. Please see the attached video link giving a 4 minute account of the day. See www.c2pc.org.uk <http://www.c2pc.org.uk/> (wait 10-15 seconds for the video to appear at the bottom of the web page).

We could be forgiven for thinking that this is because the government are actively involved with grooming the nation’s children into paedophilia and perversity and want to deny parents the authority and power of being able to protect their children from sexual predators. What other conclusion can they draw from this apparent indifference?

Yours sincerely
