The House of Lords is expected to vote on the Government's Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill later today.
Join us...If you're in or near London today, please come along to Westminster to pray outside Parliament from 4PM; we'll be there until 7PM. Even if you can't be there the whole time, come and join us as we pray for our leaders and God's mercy on our nation.
Please come as early as you can.
Take a look at this video from yesterday's gathering, which gives a flavour of the great atmosphere.
Pray with us...It's hard to emphasize how important this vote is. If a majority of the Lords vote against the Bill, it will be halted completely.
Please pray that those Peers who oppose the Bill would stand firm. They are facing lots of pressure from supporters of the Bill and scare stories of a constitutional crisis if the Lords reject the Bill.
It would be great to have you praying with us in London but wherever you are, please pray:
- that a majority of Peers would vote against the Bill
- that those opposed to it would stand firm in the face of extreme pressure
- for Lord Dear who is leading the opposition to the Bill
