PLEASE READ AND PASS ON
THE FUTURE OF THE
SAME SEX MARRIAGE BILL IS IN THE BALANCE!
PARLIAMENTARIANS SAY
IT CAN STILL BE STOPPED -
Please
earnestly express the love of Christ towards our country and
our children through prayer, in the name of Jesus.
Specifically ask our sovereign God of glory that he will
overturn the plans of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet; to
halt what we believe will otherwise be a national moral
disaster.
In
particular, we are concerned that SSM will legalise the
sexualisation of our children and youth through the
education system.* It is also increasingly likely
that it will permit significant persecution against
Christians. Church workers (including ministers), school
teachers, NHS and Local Authority staff, may well be sued,
disciplined, or lose their jobs: just for not going along
with SSM on conscience grounds.
Churches
could well be banned from meeting in public buildings, and
registrar rights taken away: if they too do not comply with
the new equality legal culture. Just this week a street
preacher was arrested in Wimbledon (while we were enjoying
the tennis) and kept in jail for several hours for preaching
on I Thessalonians 4.**
In
Canada, EU States such as Sweden and Denmark, and within the
USA these predictions are already coming true.
The combination of existing UK Equal Rights legislation
with an SSM Act will provide immensely powerful legal
instruments for the British courts to use, and the European
Court of Human Rights to uphold.
Intense
prayer for David Cameron and the Cabinet to halt this bill
is given a high biblical priority in 1 Timothy 2:2/3.
Indeed, the apostle Paul writes that this is the pathway to
'a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
reverence'.
May we
therefore strongly urge you to pray, right at this
moment, whatever you may be doing. Then please pass this
email to other Christians, even in other countries, for
them to pray too and also pass it on!
