Christian Concern-4 Ways You Can Stand for Marriage - #4:

The House of Lords will soon be voting again on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill at its Third Reading.

There are currently 25 Church of England Bishops who sit in the House of Lords. It's important they stand for God's good pattern for marriage and family.

Disappointingly, the Bishop of Leicester (who is the Convenor of the Bishops in the House of Lords) made a statement apparently signalling the end of the Church of England's official opposition to the Bill.

You can read the full statement here >

Action #4

Please contact the Bishops and:

1. ask them what they understand the Bishop of Leicester's statement to mean - is the CofE still officially opposed to same sex 'marriage'?
2. ask them for their assurance that they will vote against the Bill at its Third Reading on 15th July.

Contact information for the Bishops is available

Don't forget...

Please come and join us to pray outside Parliament on Monday 15th July as the House of Lords debates and votes on the same sex 'marriage' Bill.

Provisional times are 12-2PM and 5-7PM but please note these times are subject to change. The Government changed the timing of the last vote to increase the Bill's chance of passing and could do so again.
