Christian Concern-Please pray as Lords debate amendments to marriage Bill:

The House of Lords is currently debating amendments to the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill.

If you're interested, you can watch the debate live on Parliament TV >

At this stage, we're still praying that the Bill will be defeated outright but there won't be a vote on the Bill as a whole until next Monday (15th July).

In the meantime, we can pray that there will be robust amendments made to the Bill which will protect freedom of conscience and religion.

Please pray for:
  • favourable outcomes in votes for the amendments which would provide protections for those who believe in traditional marriage (e.g. protections for civil registrars who raise conscientious objections to presiding at same sex weddings)
  • those Peers who have tabled such amendments
  • any other Peers speaking out for protections for those who believe in traditional marriage
The Report Stage, happening now and then again on Wednesday (10th July), is the last stage before the Bill's Third Reading.

Come and join us...

Please come and join us to pray outside Parliament on Monday 15th July as the House of Lords debates and votes on the same sex 'marriage' Bill at its Third Reading.

Provisional times are 12-2PM and 5-7PM but please note these times are subject to change. The Government changed the timing of the last vote to increase the Bill's chance of passing and could do so again.
